FAQs

What is pediatric physical therapy?

Pediatric physical therapy (PT) is a specialized area of rehabilitation that focuses on improving function in babies and children. We take a comprehensive look at a children's abilities, past medical history, and impairments to determine the appropriate treatment plan. Our specialists treat and develop children to help them perform activities, develop physical skills and confidence, attain developmental milestones and ultimately improve their quality of life.

What is infant massage?

In our 5-week program, parents/caregivers will receive directed instruction and hands-on practice in infant massage strokes and the associated benefits. The therapist leading this group is certified by the International Association of Infant Massage, which has been internationally recognized as an excellent tool for families, as classes are baby-led and promote bonding and secure attachment through tuning into your baby’s cues.

What is pediatric wellness?

Here at Strive Pediatrics, we are proactive in helping your child’s development. We give you the confidence to understand your baby’s movement and how to support it. With our coaching, you will develop a deeper understanding of normal gross motor development and how to support it through purposeful play. Wellness sessions include modifications for tummy time, the selection of age-appropriate toys, use and placement, promoting symmetrical movement, and recommendations to help prevent plagiocephaly or further flattening of your little one’s head.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

Your child does not need a doctor’s referral to get an evaluation and start treatment with physical therapy for 15 days. After 15 days, we will need a referral to continue with treatment.  No referral is required for infant massage or wellness care.

What type of insurance do you accept?

We are an out-of-network, private practice. We will provide a superbill with all the requirements to submit invoices to your insurance company for maximum reimbursement. We do not directly accept insurance but will assist you with submitting any necessary paperwork.
